Writing a news lead (or lede)
1.Who: Michael and Robert Meeropol
What: Found out their father was a spy
When: July 1950
Where: Lower East Side
Why: Cooperation with Soviet propaganda campaigns
How: F.B.I. agents arrested them
Lead: They were the most famous orphans of the cold war, only 6 and 10 years old in 1953 when their parents were executed at Sing Sing for delivering atomic-bomb secrets to the Soviet Union. Then they were whisked from an unwanted limelight to urban anonymity and eventually to suburban obscurity.
My lead: Michael and Robert Meeropol were so young when their parents were arrested and supposedly helping the Soviet Union in the early 1950s. The Rosenberg couple have struggled to prove their innocence but ended up with death penalty because following the facts just wasn't enough.
2.Who: Action Comics No. 1
What: Is being sold after being hidden since 1966
When: February 2009
Where: An online auction site
Why: The comic is one of only 100 made and only one out of 20 that is not restored and untouched
How: The man found his copy of the comic in his garage and held onto it without telling anyone waiting for the value to increase
Lead: After being hidden away for years, a copy of the original "Action Comics No. 1" comic book, featuring Superman and friends, will make a comeback -- to the tune of about $400,000, a comic expert told CNN Thursday.
My lead: A man has held a comic for a long time since 1938 waiting for the sell price to rise. Right now the price is like 400,000 and possibly would rise.

1.Senior Courtney Jackson smiles at the camera during the Akins Homecoming football game. She smiles as the quarterback makes a touchdown for the winning points,14-21.
2. Brandon Watson gets ready to make a three pointer at the playoff games in Round Rock. Brandon made the shot and won him fame and fortune for home and his teammates.
This picture shows the rule of simplicity, to where it made it to where it only focused on him :).
3. Gabe Maldonado is drawing a project that will sooner be sent to vase, a art competition set at San Marcos.
Later he wins the competition and succeeds to be a well known artist.
The rule of leading lines show in this picture through the angles of the table. And also the viewpoint is shown here too because the photographer got low :)
4. In the class of English 4 the Seniors are being presented to a stone feathered owl, to know research more about animal habitats and there behaviors for the essays that they will present. After the presentation most of the seniors have gotten so inspired to actually do there work, got A pluses.

Africa
1. On your blog post your reactions to the power point
I thought all the shots were good. They were all very interesting.
2. What was your favorite photo? Describe it and tell me why its your favorite
My favorite photo was of the rhino, it was a profile view of the rhino and the reflection on the water was also pretty clear.
3. Look up the photographer –
a. What kind of camera did he use?
He shoots with a film camera.
b. What is his reason for taking the photos?
He treats the photography of the wild animals of Africa as a fine art form.
c. What is his hope by taking these types of photos?
To capture the beauty of these animals.
d. “African wildlife has never looked so regal and mysterious as in Brandt’s grave photographs. His elephants appear as weighty as the pyramids. His rhinos look more ancient than carbon. His apes know something we don’t. Given the multitude of human disasters in Africa, is it an indulgence to lose yourself in pictures that carry no hint of the wars and famines outside the frame? Not when the pictures are such powerful reminders that Africa is also a magnificent—and endangered—treasure house of animal life.”
4. Find one of his photos that you really like and post it on your blog.

Warm-up and assignment for today
I like these two photos because they show the rule of leading lines, showing the subject of the picture with clever lines. Like how in the first picture the dirt road? is crosshairing the white vehicle in the middle. While the second photo has the cars in a straight line pointing to the fire fighter in the corner.
In this photo the rules of simplicity and point of view are shown by showing the subjects in a different angle giving them a better view of what is happening. Damn i feel bad for all the dead :(.

Touching People
1. What do you think about this project and photo essay?
I think that this is a weird project but it is very interesting because alot of people are randomly feeling up on eachother.
2. What would you do if someone approached you with a camera and asked you to participate in a photo shoot and then asked you to touch a stranger?
It just better not be inappropriate
3. Think of an unusual photo shoot similar to this one that you think would be fun to go and shoot.
IDK
4. Finally, tell me what you thought of the photography, did the photographer think about the rules of photography that you know about? What types of photos did he take?
Well there are no mergers or anything to offset the photography so im guessing yes
And he took pictures of people touching eachother :)

Magazine cover and catch up
Read the 2 page article about magazine cover design. The second page is much more important than the first page. On your blog tell me 5 things you should be thinking about when you design your magazine cover.
No matter what you put on the cover, keep the six functions of covers in mind:
1. Familiar recognition from issue to issue (that’s the brand)
2. Emotionally irresistible (that’s the image’s appeal)
3. Arousing curiosity (that’s to pull the casual glancer in)
4. Intellectually stimulating, interesting (that’s to promise benefits)
5. Efficient, fast, easy to scan (that’s showing off the service)

Portrait and self-portrait tips and ideas
- After looking at these, find what you think are the best 2 or 3 tips and copy and paste them into a new post on your blog.
- Have fun with it. Be sexy. Be yourself. Be awesome. Be different. Be creative. Whatever you do, have fun with it. That’s part of the point, after all.
- Use props! Are you a dad and a rocker? Bring your kid and your guitar. Are you a photographer? Add camera gear. Painter? Paint. Poet? Words. Make-up artist? Guess… You get the idea.
- I like this photo because of the vibrant colors in the background.
- I like this photo because the clown is creepy and its a weird emotion for a clown to express.
Photography self portrait
- I like this photo because its like some kinda of star trek thing...or at least it reminds me of it.
- I like this photo because it looks like the photographer has a little metallic dimension in the palm of his hand.
Casual portrait
- I like this photo because the old retro coloring gives it that old music feel and emphasizes her status.
- I like this photo because its like the baby is seeing her twin and is saying hi to it or something.
Please write a paragraph telling me your plan for your portrait assignment. Answer the following questions: who will you shoot, where will you shoot, and what will you do to make the shot successful. Be specific on all three answers. When I read it I should know who and where you will take the photos and I should know exactly what your plan is to make sure you get not only good negatives, but a good print.
I will probably take a photo of somebody else because i am not much of a model. I'm just to shy to be in front of the camera. But I'm pretty sure someone else can get the feel of it so i will tell them what to do. Probably like a lovely couple together or something.
